Life can be full of surprises, and not all of them pleasant. Circumstances can change dramatically and without prior warning, leading to a journey into unfamiliar and sometimes hostile environments that one would not have expected to encounter.
The structure of time changes. It no longer becomes valued but wasted. The future is uncertain, clouded, placed into the possession of unknown others. A feeling of powerlessness slowly and inevitably grinds its way into all aspects of daily life.
Physical and psychological barriers start to appear, causing horizons to dissolve and dissipate from view. Space becomes ever more restricted as intangible boundaries press and constrict. The sense of self is undermined as tension builds.
